Online pet store Fetch.co.uk launches world’s largest dog bowl
Fetch.co.uk hopes to educate people across the UK about the importance of keeping your pets hydrated throughout the summer.
Manifest, who created the campaign, told PRWeek that the agency had spotted dog walkers online talking about the lack of water available in London parks, leading them to conjuring up this event.
The dog bowl stretches 4.5m in diameter, stands at 1m tall and can hold up to 2000 litres of water. It was unveiled Thursday at Kennington Park, South London, and will stay there until Saturday. It will later tour across the UK, to further spread awareness.
Lauren Vrsalovich, Fetch’s in-house vet, said:
"It can be difficult to decide how much water you should give your dog. Generally speaking the average dog should drink 20-70 millilitres of water for every kilogram they weigh. For example, a 10kg dog should drink between 200 and 700ml in a 24-hour period. But this will vary between individuals. It’s a good idea to get used to what is normal for your pet so you can keep an eye out for any dramatic increases or decreases in fluid intake."
Dogs are prone to quickly get overheated when locked inside cars, even with windows open. The RSPCA’s advises not panic and to asses the animals condition first. If they are displaying signs of heatstroke you should call 999 immediately.
